Sorry everyone - I'm sadly canceling yoga class at the Caretakers House TONIGHT - last minute style - as it turns out I have to finish up some work this evening before going out of town on Wednesday.
My intention these days is to get those things done that are lingering on the to-do list, and I happen to have a large accumulation of those! Unfortunately, the timing is just in conflict with the class this week. :(
Actually, I was going to cancel the class anyway when I heard about the show listed below (Honeycomb at the Climate Theatre), so that I could encourage you all to come with me and to be there on time... but saying that I have work to do (which is true as well now) maybe sounds like a better reason. :)
Either way, I hope you all get to practice on your own or go to another class. (Let me know if you want a recommendation - two of my favorite teachers, Marni & Geoffrey, have classes on Tuesday nights in the neighborhood that might be good to check out.) I hope you also can make it to the show!!
As a heads up, I return back from Ohio next Tuesday night at 10pm so am so bummed to not have class next week as well, but email me if you want practice ideas... I am hoping to add a weekend class perhaps starting in January at the Yoga Loft, for those who can't make it Tuesdays or who would want to attend a second weekly class, so stay tuned on that, and let me know if you think you might be able to make it if that happens.
As always, let me know if you have requests of poses you want to work on or learn/explore in the future, and I'm happy to incorporate those into classes.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Of course a great intention for this time is to practice gratitude, and I hope you all also use this time to practice and develop whatever intentions you've been coming up with in recent classes or outside in the "real" world.
Thanks for your continued support of yoga at the Caretakers House, and for understanding switches in the schedule like the ones above. :)
Ommmmm Shanti
Jessie

SHOW INFO FOR TONIGHT!
HONEYCOMB
playing the MUSIC BOX SERIES
at the CLIMATE THEATRE
285 9th st. at Folsom
doors at 7:30, show at 8
$7-15 sliding scale
Over the summer Emily Ritz began performing her music with a small lady choir including Heather Normandale, Courtney Nicole and Karin Dahl. The group was soon joined by vibraphone player Andrew Maguire. Honeycomb has now expanded to include Cellist Nate Blaz and Kacey Johansing on vocals and percussion. Joe Lewis has also been accompanying the group on upright bass. They have been playing shows in the bay area monthly and are currently recording an EP due for release in March.
During this time Emily has also been semi-secretly writing and recording all new songs with Rob Shelton from The Moanin' Dove and Nate Blaz of Geographer. The new arrangement consists of amazing musicians Jake Nochimow, Andrew Maguire, James Riotto and Nomi. The songs have yet to be performed in front of an audience.
Honeycomb will be the only band playing the night of the 24th. At 8 sharp they will start with a set of the songs they have been playing out for the last few months and then there will be a second set of the never before heard music.
You really don't want to miss this! Ukulele, vibes, cello, upright bass, rhodes, percussion, five beautiful ladies, face paint and all!
